For the display of the stars found in querying the database we have tried to follow the acronyms proposed by Fernandez, Lortet, & Spite (1983 A&AS 52 no 4) for many commonly used designations. However we had to find a solution for many faint field stars or small lists and sequences for which acronyms have not been formed. We have simply kept the code numbers which can be easily decoded with the information provided.
