Parts

Since I always planned to have the car for myself, I had collected tons of spares and performance parts during my stay in the the USA.:

  • Newly rebuilt and uprated engine, by myself. See specs below , the bottom of the page.
  • Streamlined late TR4/TR4A input manifold. Better intake flow than the TR3-TR4 manifold.
  • TR3-TR4 input manifold
  • straight pipe and fitting to replace the second muffler. More power and mightier sound.
  • Newly rebuilt overdrive gearbox. This gearbox is originally TR4, but I fitted it with a TR6 input shaft and a TR6 main shaft so that I could graft it with a TR6 (J-type) overdrive that is easier to source, more compact and more reliable than the TR3 (A-type) overdrive. Full synchro.
  • Rear anti-roll bar (front anti-roll bar mounted on car)
  • New limited slip differential. Diff only, not the axle.

Engine specifications:

  • TR3B block. TCF stamping
  • Freshly honed 87mm cylinders
  • Freshly ground vilbrequin, dynamically balanced.
  • Conrods checked and balanced
  • Balanced pistons with BFE rings. 2200ccm
  • Aluminum flywheel
  • New TR6 diaphragph type clutch (stronger and revs better), dynamicaly balanced
  • New mild grind on the camshaft (Americam, I have the cut type on record)
  • New oil pump , new secondary chain, new bearings all over (of course)
  • Rebuilt fuel pump
  • Rebuilt head with:
    • increased compression (9.7)
    • hard seats for unleaded fuel (3-angle cut)
    • oversize streamlined Moss intake valves
    • hardened BFE exhaust valves
    • bronze valve guides,
    • light BFE alloy retaining collars
    • combustion chambers polished and balanced,
    • mildly ported, polished exhaust ports
    • BFE chrome-molly pushrods.
  • Log-book of the rebuild (All grinds re-checked after work, cam angles, compressions ratios, etc)
